Players & Supporters Night - 18 August
Every year we stage this event, primarily as a thank you to the many supporters who follow the team and caddy for them during the League season. Of course, if we happen to win the Newcastle & District or Hadrian Leagues, the night becomes a real celebration too.

To kick the evening off, we play a four person Texas Scramble over 9 holes and afterwards present Guinness tokens to the players plus the Club's Player Of The Year Trophies.

This year, 16 people turned up and it is sad to say that only 5 of these were League players, especially in view of the purpose of the night. It's interesting to note that 7 of the others were juniors! However, we did have the pleasure of League men, James Curry, Neil Graham, David Gilroy, Geoff Ross and Graham Younger.

Geoff Ross Luke Anderson, Jack Hill and Lee Jacobs won with a fine score of 27.6.
The other results were:
28.2 - Neil Graham, Bob Lawrence, Andy Scrimshaw, Josh Robson
28.7 - James Curry, Roger Swan, Michael Tailford, Ben Waters
28.9 - David Gilroy, Graham Younger, Jason Brown, Shaun Fenwick

The District League Player Of The Year Trophy was awarded to Neil Graham and the Hadrian League to Geoff Ross. Well done guys.

For those that don't know, Guinness tokens, finance by the Captain and Vice Captain, are given to the player with the biggest victory in each League match. However, if the match is won 12-0, then all the team on the night gets one. Occasionally, there are bonus tokens for great results in tough matches.

For those players who couldn't or didn't make it on the night your Guinness tokens (where applicable) are behind the bar and are valid until 30.9.06.

Let's hope there's a better turn out of players next year, regardless of the Teams' League positions!
